Tom has historically been involved in general practice with an emphasis in civil litigation. In recent years Tom has been focusing more on family law, recognizing the importance of such an area in our society. “Next to the loss of a loved one, I can’t think of anything more devastating to a human being than the break-up of a family. Helping people through such difficult times can be both challenging and rewarding at the same time,” Tom says.
In addition to being a member of several professional organizations, Tom is on Emeritus status with Blackstone Inns of Court and is presently Chair of the Polk County Bar Association Ethics Committee.
Tom and his wife, Lana, live in Urbandale. They have one daughter, Alison, who recently graduated from Central College and is an admissions counselor at Drake University. His outside interests include gardening and playing keyboards and acoustic guitar.
